Provides training to residential consumers in the activities of daily living skills and on an individual and small group basis. Implements individual goals and services recommended by the treatment team, according to methods, time frames, outlined by Residential Habilitation Plans. Observes agency and program policies and procedures to maintain a residential environment that promotes the well being of residents and the protection of their individuals rights, while ensuring individualized services. Remains awake and on duty throughout the night.
High school diploma or an equivalent amount of education and/or experience. Will be required to obtain and maintain Medication Certification.
Conditions of employment include obtaining CPR, First Aid and SCIP certification.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Charged with the timely pick up and delivery of Abbey Industries, Eberhardt Center, Recreation and contract services passengers, assuring their safety and providing the necessary supervision and direction to ensure this. Observes agency and program policies and procedures to maintain and protect the individual rights of passengers. Promotes and maintains positive and professional communication.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent, and over one year applicable experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. No moving violations for 12 months prior to hire. Valid NYS Commercial Drivers License C with Passenger Endorsement or willing to acquire within thirty (30) days of hire. Must be Department of Motor Vehicles 19‑A certifiable. Must participate in mandatory drug and alcohol testing program.
Provides habilitation support services to individuals with developmental disabilities, generally on a small group or one-to-one basis in a variety of settings. Provides training opportunities designed to enhance each person’s self-sufficiency in the areas of personal independence, community integration and productivity. Promotes agency mission, vision and values.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
H.S. Diploma and up to one (1) year relevant experience or an equivalent amount of education and/or experience. Reliable means of transportation and safe driving record.
Carries out the provision of various custodial contracts and instructs and supervises assigned program participants. Provides for the safe transportation of program participants and materials to and from the various job sites as required.
Over two years relevant work experience with knowledge of custodial operations and experience in supervision of others. Valid NYS Driver's license, no moving violations for twelve (12) months prior to hire.
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities and Transportation, the Maintenance Specialist 2 is responsible for a variety of routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance issues throughout all ARC facilities. Helps to promote the maximum safety and well being of program participants, staff and visitors through attractive, well-maintained facilities. Specialist 2 person typically are assigned a specific building or buildings which they are independently responsible for such as Abbey Industries or the Eberhardt Center or are involved with complex capital projects such as new housing.
High school diploma or equivalent to journeyman level and over three (3) years experience in general maintenance, building trades or custodial services or an equivalent amount of education and/or experience. Must possess a clean driving record.
Provides habilitative support services to individuals, including children, adults and elderly persons with developmental disabilities, generally on a one-to-one basis in home and community settings. Provides training opportunities designed to enhance each consumer's self sufficiency in the areas of personal independence, community integration and productivity. Observes agency policies and procedures to maintain an environment which promotes the well-being of participants and the protection of their individual rights, including the right to humane and dignified treatment.
H.S. Diploma and one (1) year of relevant experience or an equivalent amount of education and/or experience. Reliable means of transportation and safe driving record.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Specialized training and/or certification in Positive Approaches, Lifting and other physical assistance techniques. CPR and First Aid.
