Job Description

Provides training to residential consumers in the activities of daily living skills and on an individual and small group basis.  Implements individual goals and services recommended by the treatment team, according to methods, time frames, outlined by Residential Habilitation Plans.  Observes agency and program policies and procedures to maintain a residential environment that promotes the well being of residents and the protection of their individuals rights, while ensuring individualized services.  Remains awake and on duty throughout the night.

High school diploma or an equivalent amount of education and/or experience.  Will be required to obtain and maintain Medication Certification.

Job Description

May serve as Qualified Mental Retardation Professional (QMRP) to oversee Individual Residential Plans.  Provides training to residents in the activities of daily living on an individual and small group basis.  Develops and implements individual goals and services recommended by the treatment team.  Trains site staff on proper implementation, methods and time frames.  Peforms a vareity of supervisory, resident-related and program adminstrative functions to ensure efficient day-to-daty operations of assigned residential site.  Helps to ensure a homelike environment is maintained in a safe, sanitary and attractive condition.  Ensures that program policies and procedures are implemented or observed by staff to promote the well-being of residentials and the protection of their individual rights.  

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Services and three years of relevant experience including one year of supervisory experience or an equivalent amount of education and/or experiences.  Candidates with QMRP requirements and at least one year of working with those who have developmental disabilities preferred.

Additional Information

Must obtain cerfication in CPR, First Aid, Medication Adminstration as well as certification to drive agency vehicles and Occasional Driver status.  Must complete Positive Approaches training.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Collaborate with agency staff and community organizations on the implementation of the company’s strategic and operational plans.

  2. Create and build relationships while fostering interaction to obtain new projects or project expansion.

  3. Develop and facilitate the proposal process for specific projects including budget and pricing development, proposal writing, contract negotiations and presentations.

  4. Develop and implement efficient and effective marketing plans, to maximize potential for increased revenue and product/service exposure.

  5. Analysis of competitors, the market, the micro and macro-environment.

  6. Develop a yearly budget for business development and prudently manage resources within those budgetary guidelines and within ethical guidelines.

  7. Assist in developing a budget and price estimate using standard models.

  8. Draft the narrative that ties the project components together and package and assist in presenting the proposal.

  9. Communicate with internal groups regarding the outcome of negotiations and proposals, focusing on conveying the expectations set forth for each group/staff, i.e. clear details, critical timeframes and expectations.

  10. Collaborate with the Finance department to evaluate project performance and to recommend refinements and improvements of all components of proposals.

  11. Track and report on the status of all proposal components to senior management.May occasionally report to the Board of Directors, other agency Boards and committees.

  12. Establish and maintain on-going relationships with the various parties to anticipate and resolve potential problems. Participate in business site visits.

  13. Maintain agency culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers and partners.

A.A.S. degree and two (2) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of the above.  Excellent communication skills.  Will be required to obtain driving certification for all agency vehicles.   CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Valid NYS License with no moving violations for 12 months prior to hire.  DMV 19-A Certification.  Valid NYS Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class C with passenger endorsement.  NYS DMV 19-A Examiner Certification within two (2) years of hire.  NTSI Defensive Driver Instructor certification within one year.
