What is Cruisin for a Cause?

Cruisin' for a Cause

Cruisin for a Cause is Ontario ARC's only major annual fundraiser and all proceeds from this year's event support The Autism Center at Ontario ARC. Cruisin' for a Cause -- now in its 19th year -- has become one of the largest and most exciting events in Ontario County, NY.

Your gift of time or money through sponsorship is greatly appreciated by families of people with autism spectrum disorders. The event brings together families, frends and community-minded people for a night of good food and fine wines at Steamboat Landing. Businesses and organizations that choose to support the event receive recognition through signage, an online directory and appreciation advertisements run in the Finger Lakes Times, Daily Messenger and ARC Life, the agency's newsletter.

Cruisin' for a Cause is on Thursday, August 18 at 5:30 p.m. under the tent at Steamboat Landing.

Tell me about The Autism Center at Ontario ARC.

Opened in April 2011, The Autism Center at Ontario ARC provides specialized services and supports for children, teens and adults with autism spectrum disorders. It offers behavior supports, counseling, crisis intervention, play therapy, recreation & respite, service coordination and transition planning. The center also houses a comprehensive Resource Library with books, magazines and DVDs about autism for family members, neighbors and educators. Your support helps us expand these services to meet the increasing need in our community. The Autism Center at Ontario ARC

The center has a four-pronged mission:

  • Provide families and caregivers with the most current information regarding programs, services, therapies and area resources.
  • Develop programs to enhance and improve the lives of adults and children with autism spectrum disorders
  • Increase the knowledge and understanding of these individuals, their needs and their families' needs through community awareness and education programs
