Self Advocate Success

On June 4, three self advocates -- (from left) Tammie Carter, Mary Pimm, and Jennifer Greer -- from the Speak Up and Speak Out Self Advocacy Group of Ontario County attended the Self Advocacy Association of NYS regional conference in Batavia, NY. The annual even provides individuals with the opportunity to connect with other self advocates from the Western New York and Finger Lakes region, hear keynote speakers, and attend a variety of workshops about self advocacy. Thank you to everyone, who made attending this conference possible by supporting the group's fund raising efforts.

Ontario ARC currently selling tickets for Cruisin' for a Cause

Ontario ARC is currently selling tickets for its 17th annual Cruisin' for a Cause -- the agency's only major fundraiser of the year. Held on Aug. 20 at Steamboat Landing in Canandaigua, the event will feature three half hour cruises on the Canandaigua Lady, entertainment by The Works, silent auction, and live auction emceed by Howie Jacobson.

Tickets are $50 each and proceeds benefit the Ontario ARC's Recreation Program, which provides year-round recreational activities for people with developmental disabilities.

To purchase tickets, contact Donna Auria, Director of Development, at 585-394-7500, ext. 191. Tickets are on-sale until Wednesday, Aug. 19.
